The member representing Dengi Constituency and Deputy Speaker in the Plateau House of Assembly , Hon. Saleh Shehu Yipmong, has disclosed that there is a total of 20 pending bills which would be given accelerated hearing by the ninth House immediately after inauguration in June 2019, to advance the well-being of the people of the state.

The measure, he said would increase the capacity of the incoming lawmakers to assist the government to better the lives of the people in the areas of social and economic infrastructure.

According to him, the pending bills have a direct bearing on the living standards of the people and the lawmakers would have to give them speedy passage at least to thank the people for re-electing governor Simon Lalong.

He said: “Lalong was given the second mandate because of his transparent style of leadership and commitment to transform the state and well-being of the people. We a were witnesses to the challenges of insecurity, delayed and non-payment of salaries to workers for as long as seven to ten months, But he solved all that one after the other due to prudent management of resources.”

Yipmong who spoke at the House of Assembly complex in Jos, urged the people of the state to remain focused and support the government to take governance to the next level.
