The executive Governor of Plateau state, Simon Bako Lalong has charged the five newly appointed superior court judges to shun all manner of corrupt tendencies and strive for uprightness,courage and fairness to all.

"As you step into this level as judges, you should endeavor to build on those values that have earned you this elevation. You must shun all corrupt tendencies and instead strive for uprightness, courage and fairness for all."

The Governor who performed the inauguration of judges at the Banquet Hall of the new government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, on Thursday said "the significance of today's occasion is therefore not lost on us because it is simply a fulfilment of government's desire to strengthen the judiciary and galvanize the courts for the speedy administration of justice."

He assured that government will continue to uphold the democratic tenets of the separation of powers, as well as promote ethics and values in our people, view to bringing justice to the door steps of ordinary citizens.

"We have over the last four years anchored our drive for a virile judicial system in the belief that the law remains the last hope of the common man.

"As a lawyer, who was once the head of the state legislature, and now the head of the executive arm of government, this unique experience has helped tremendously in our ensuring that there exists a cordial relationship between the executive, legislature and judiciary arms of government based on the principle of separation of powers, the independence of each arm and respect for each arm as is constitutionally stipulated.This has indeed enhanced goo governance in the state." He mentioned.

Lalong  vowed to ensure the completion of the  on going building of a new high court complex which according to him he inherited from the immediate past administration at barely foundation laying stage. Noting that"right now, now Government has committed funds for the completion of the complex within the next two months."

He added " let me reiterate that government will never treat with levity the issue of welfare of judiciary workers and, indeed, all workers in the state."He concluded.

The newly judges sworn in are:

High Court; Geoffrey Mwasu Kamyal, Gedaliah Dayen Fwamyon, and Boniface Shalyuun Ngyouu,.

Sharia Court of Appeal: Muhammad mustapha Hassan.

Customary Court of Appeal :
Veronica Julcit Dadom.
