KANAM LG BOSS DISTRIBUTES 500 BAGS OF MAIZE AND MILLET AS PALLIATIVE
Five hundred (500) bags of Assorted Grains meant for the poor and vulnerable in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State arrived Dengi, Kanam Local Government Area Headquarter earlier today Donated by Kanam Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Wokdung Adamu Abbas.
Kanam Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Wokdung Adamu Abbas alongside Members of the Kanam Local Government Area, State Committee comprising of the Hon. Commissioner for Physical Planning And Urban Development, Alhaji. Dr. Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, the Emir of Kanam, HRH. Alh. Muhammad Babangida Mu'azu ||, Hon. Member Plateau State House of Assembly Representing Kantana Constituency, Hon. Isma'il Hudu Bala Noma, Former Accountant General Plateau State, Chief. Shem Y. Damisa, Amb. Danladi Wuyep, Director Library Federal University Kashere, Alh. Muhammed Othman Garba, PDP Chairman Kanam LGA, Alh. Aliyu Ali, Religious leaders and other stakeholders appreciated the efforts of Hon. Wokdung Adamu Abbas for the palliative which they believe would go a long way in cushioning the hardship of the people especially in the face of lockdown aimed at preventing and containing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
Hon. Wokdung Constitute and Inaugurated a five Man distribution Committees which comprises of the following:
1- Alh. Musa Musawa - Chairman
2- Mr. Yakubu Namwandon JP - Secretary
3- Alh. Nuhu Gyambari
(APC Chairman Kanam LGC) - Member
4- Alh. Danlami Danbiri
(Former PDP Chairman Kanam LGC) - Member
5- Miss. Rabi Bala - Member
The Committee also agreed that the 500 bags be shared equally by the Twenty Electoral Wards of the Local Government.
The distribution committee and Stakeholders representing each of the 20 Electoral Wards were giving charge of the consignment for onward delivery to the targeted group (poor and vulnerable only) in their respective Wards.
Hon. Wokdung Adamu Abbas warned that punitive measures would be taken against anyone found violating the arrangement while also expressing government's commitment to fighting the Covid-19 pandemic to standstill.
Alhaji. Dayyabu Garga Commissioner For Physical Planning and Urban Development appreciating the timely intervention by Chairman Hon. Wokdung Adamu Abbas led administration, the Emir of Kanam, HRH, Alh. Muhammad Babangida Mu'azu || added that the Committee would monitor closely, the distribution to ensure the relief items reaches the targeted group.
In Another Development the Council Boss Hon. Wokdung Adamu Abbas Inaugurated 8 Men Almajiris deportation Committee which comprises The Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN), Kanam Chapter, The Jama'atul Nasril Islam (JNI), Kanam Chapter, The Supervisory Councilor for Social Service KLGC, Director Of Health KLGC, Adviser On Budget KLGC, Among others.
The Alnajaris deportation Committee are saddle with the responsibility of touring round all the Twenty Electoral Wards in Kanam LGA to bring out the Almajaris for onwards deportation to their respective State of Origin as directed by Government of Plateau State under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong.
In addition, government directives on lockdown of all Central Markets, prohibition on sales of goods/commodities other than good items, Medicaments, and essential commodities, prohibition of social and religious gatherings including weeding/naming ceremonies, congregational prayers remains. The members of the general are also admonished to continue to observe social distancing, regular washing of hands, maintain personal hygiene and other guidelines already in place.
The Council Chairman further reiterated the commitment of his administration in the figth against Covid-19 and other health related challenges while calling on the general public to cooperate with the Response Team.
