Speaker Abok Nuhu Ayuba accompanied by Honorable Members of Plateau State House of Assembly were received by Rev. Yakubu Pam ( the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC)), in his office in Abuja, yesterday.

Addressing the Executive Secretary and his Board of Directors on behalf of the 9th State Assembly and the entire people of Plateau State, the Speaker said, they were in his office to congratulate him on his appointment, not only because he hails from Plateau State but because they believe in his ability to the good use of his new office to promoting tolerance, unity and peaceful coexistence amongst Nigerians.

He said: "we know that it is your broad mindedness and long held principle of religious tolerance couple with your long standing recognition of the Nigerian doctorine of unity in diversity that made Mr. President to consider you worthy to serve in this capacity." He further advised Rev. Pam to take advantage of this opportunity of pilgrimage as a means to conditioning the minds of believers on improving practical Christian living which will further strengthen religious tolerance, unity and peaceful coexistence in the country.

Responding, Rev. Pam thanked the Speaker and his entourage for coming and said he was very happy because it was the first official visit he received since assuming office. He said, he also understand the challenges of leadership, stressing that the people of Plateau State in particular and Nigeria in general have high expectations on the Speaker and admonished him not to worry because God who put him there will always show him the way out. He promised that they will continue to pray for God's guidance on the leaders in their moments of difficult decision making.
