Honourable minister of women Affairs and social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen have stated that the Federal Government under her ministry is targeting about three thousand Women beneficiaries of Micro, small and medium enterprises(MSMEs) across Nigeria.

Tallen made the revelation while delivering a keynote address in a two days (25th and 26th, September), capacity building workshop for women in Micro, small and medium enterprises on the Plateau.

The capacity building workshop was organized by the Federal ministry of women affairs in collaboration with 50 million group drawn participants from different cooperative groups.

According to Tallen, this training workshop is one of the strategic interventions of her ministry to ameliorate the adverse effect of COVID-19 pandemic on women owned businesses across the country.

"This noble program will cover the six geopolitical zones if the country. It is expected that at the end of the trainings, 3,000 women in MSMEs across the six geopolitical zones would have been empowered to overcome the business huddles occasioned by the pandemic.

"I want to inform you that a lot of resources were deployed to put up the workshop of this magnitude. In view of the above, I charge you to put your very best and pay rapt attention to acquire basic entrepreneurial education that will sharpen your business skills for improved productivity and business sustainability.

"If this feat is achieved, it will be a vehicle to speedily carry out the Federal Government's vision to lift one hundred million Nigerians out of poverty," She stressed.




The women affairs minister, Dame Tallen, also facilitate the handing over of palliative to the Plateau State Government for onward distribution to the vulnerable women to cushion the effect of Coronavirus pandemic.

Receiving the items, Chairman Plateau State COVID-19 task force on palliative and Deputy Governor, Prof. Sonni Tyoden thanked the minister's kind gesture, as he assured judicious and equitable distribution of the food stuff to the target beneficiaries.

Among the food items received include; rice, guinea corn, surgeon, Garri,Millet, supergeaty, salt and Pampers respectively.
