The Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command,CP Edward C.Egbuka has said the greatest asset of a nation are it's youth population.

He charged youths to make good use of their time and strive to make their families and country proud by avoiding social vices and bad companies.

The Commissioner stated this Friday when he received in his office the Children Parliament on courtesy visit as they converged in Jos the Plateau State capital to celebrate Nigeria's 60th Independence.

According to CP Egbuka, "The greatest potentials that Nigeria has is not the mineral resources, is not oil but the youths.This is because all over the world Nigerian youths are excellent, and are doing well.

"We should put the fear of God in whatever we are doing, children must always obey their parents, teachers guardians and disassociate themselves from bad companies.

Make good use of your time, because time wait for no one. So, use it very diligently to make your families and the country proud of you."

The Chief Security officer brief the Children Parliament on the state of the security of the state thus. "Plateau State is relatively peaceful now, even though the state witness some little challenges when some hoodlums tried to hijacked the peaceful #EndSARS Protest in the state. But we were able to overcome them."

The Child Wife of the Vice President Her Excellency Veirat Ezekiel in her speech maintained that the Children Parliament has fully declared their stand for the #EndSARS Protest and the reformation agenda of the Inspector General of Police stressing that.



In her words, "The only way we can have a better Police structure that will meet the ever challenging world of crime is through reformation and sophistication. It is not a shame that SARS is abolished."

The Children Parliament charged the IG to established one of the best SWAT Unit in the world and ensure that men of the desbaded SARS are not recruited into the new unit but graduates and other responsible youth should be given the opportunity to serve their fatherland.

"Their salaries and allowances must be world class, they must be provided with exclusive acommodation and work class welfare packages. All agents of the proposed SWAT Nigeria must be provided with cars or motorcycles and grated 50% discount on all social services," they stated.

For them, the proposed SWAT Nigeria Nationwide must have world class facilities sophistication and not attached to any Police Station but operate as an independent, efficient and accountable security unit in the country.

The Children Parliament has presented a proposed "National SWAT Centre for SMART Security Technology and Intelligence" to be sited in Nasarawa State in honour of the Police IG for taken the bull by  the horns for the reformation of the Police in the country.

They also observed a one minute silence in respect of those who lost their lives as a result of the #EndSARS Protest across the country.
