Chief Executive Officer of Tapshak Entertainment Limited,Dorcas Bentu has disclosed that all is set for the unveiling of the Jos Christmas Village in the ancient tin city of Jos Plateau at Covenant Garden at Crest Hotel .

Speaking to our correspondent in Jos, Bentu said the idea of the Christmas Village is born out of the company's desire to promote the experiences of Africans during Christmas festivity as it used to be across the African Villages taking advantage of the unique Jos weather.

This will help restore back theatre arts and entertainment culture on the Plateau because if you look at the entertainment industry in the country, Plateau has contributed immensely until the crisis that affected the industry in the state.

Going memory lend, she recalled that "The first theatre in Nigeria during colonial era was built in Jos Plateau. The former European Club now call Yelwa Club in Jos and the present Indoor Theatre, the Professor  L. T Bentu Indoor Theatre was the African Club.

"So, Plateau has this theatre culture and we are determine to restore that culture back to correct the  wrong narratives that was over the years painted about Plateau as if there are no people living there."

For the Entertainment Executive, Plateau is the Home of Tourism , we need to tell our  stories , that lasting peace has returned to Plateau.

"We that are living here  are the one to tell our story that things have changed. At least we have two airlines operating now at the Yakubu Gowon Airport. The Max Airline and Arik! This has already address the transport needs that goes with Tourism, people from all part of the world are already coming into Jos."

She maintained that major activities built for the Christmas Village consist of "live classical music stage production which there is nothing like that in Plateau and probably Nigeria. It  is about Christmas but we are telling it in our own way. We shall be having the African Village Christmas where we shall be showcasing the African experience of Christmas across villages.

"There shall be runway for local designers in the state to showcase their creativities and designs because we have a lot of designers on the Plateau.
