Plateau United Football club of Jos have broken the unbeaten run of Nasarawa United of Lafia in match day 7 fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, 2020/21 season.

You would recall,Nasarawa United remain unbeatable in the ongoing NPFL 2020/21 campaign, topping the league table with 14 points from six matches played winning four and two draw until Plateau United nightmare.

Reigning champions Plateau United who secured three maximum points in a tough encounter with league leaders, Nasarawa United on Friday at New Jos International Stadium, Zaria Road, a powerful header in the 16 yard box Zulkifilu Mohammad in the 34 minutes of first half ensure victory for home side Plateau United.

Meanwhile, with the resounding victory against league toppers Nasarawa United in match day 7 team Plateau United are now fifth in the league table.

According to Plateau united team Coach. Abdu Maikaba"we feel very excited actually. We know even before the game is not going to be easy, is going to be a difficult game but we are happy we have won that is the target and now we are three points behind Nasarawa United.

"I believe we are going closer, so with time things will change!

"The next game against Warri Wolves is not going to be different. We going all out to make sure we record our first away win of the season because that will cater port us in the first three on the log. I think we will be very happy to get to that", Maikaba stated.

Also reacting, having lost for the first time in the season after an unbeaten run, Nasarawa United Chief Coach, Bala Nku said well, the match is all about winning, draw and losing. "Like I said before we started the match is not that were unbeaten, we're only having a good time which I thought we would have continue but unfortunate we couldn't.

"But I think from here we will continue from where we stop. I think we remain who we are!

"Is always a bad language when if you lose a match and start telling the people that players didn't do well is an insult as far as I am concerned.If you make mistake as human being it is natural that you make mistake. There is no disappointment if they make mistake we can go back for correction", he concluded.

However, Plateau United are traveling away to face Warri Wolves in the match day 8 fixtures of the NPFL as Nasarawa United will be hosting Eyimba International of Abba in Lafia.
