 Plateau united football club of Jos, Chief Coach Abdu Maikaba said securing victory is very important for the team as the position which they occupied in the current Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL),2020/2021 season is unpalatable.

Coach Maikaba who spoke to Journalists after defeating opponent Adamawa United in the match day 5 fixtures of the NPFL 2020/21 campaign at New Jos International Stadium, Zaria Road on Sunday, He said the winning is very crucial because it will upgrade the club status in the current league table.

The reigning champions, Plateau united pick a three maximum points to solidify a nightmare of one- nill lost against Kano Pillars midweek Wednesday's fixtures of match day 4 in Kaduna state.

Plateau United home victory against Adamawa united is now in the ongoing league.

Amos Gyang who captain the team against Adamawa united score the opening goal in the first half through penalty kick before two substitute Kingsley and Wasiu Jimoh came from bench to score second and third goals to sealed victory for Plateau united.

Though injuries and lack of utilising chances to score goals remain a challenge to the club, Coach Maikaba express optimism believing that the team will keep on improving in their subsequent games.

Meanwhile, Adamawa united team coach Ibrahim Bello blame the center referee for awarding a cheap penalty to Plateau united.

He also lamented defensive error by his players that led to second and third goals of Plateau United at the dying minutes of the encounter.

Recall, team Plateau United have seven points from five games played in the NPFL 2020/21 campaign as they won two, recorded a draw and lost two respectively, while their next game will be away against Katsina United.
