Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has stated that his administration have already worked out modalities to employ about 2,000 teachers and renovate 100 schools across the state.

Lalong said that World Bank have agreed to provide intervention and counterpart funding for 100 schools renovation across the 17 LGA to enable government facilitate uplift the living standard of education to high pedestal.

The Governor who engaged Journalists across the state in an interactive session on Saturday in new Government House Little Rayfield.

You would recall rescue administration in Plateau under Governor Simon Lalong have three policy thrust which anchored on peace, security and good governance, Infrastructural development and economic rebirth.

Lalong gave assurance that his administration will try not live office without all projects unfinished.
 
He said very soon contractor will be mobilize to finish the ongoing NUJ Secretariat renovation.

"The NUJ Secretariat is beyond Lalong Legacy Project because my mission about the Secretariat started the moment I was invited to represent the Governor of River state to launch that project.

"What is really touching is that part of the we doing that is in memory of your colleagues who lost their lives on the tour and it was really in my local government when I was a speaker. 

"So I was directly affected and we continue to remember them and may their souls rest in peace. So, is part of that we said we are going to remember them so that one day they say their 
death is not in vain.

"For me it's beyond Lalong Legacy Project. It is Plateau project and to also help you in discharging your day to day responsibility", Lalong explained.

Governor Lalong further revealed that Federal Government has approved Plateau airport as international airport for agriculture and commerce to take a center stage.

On security challenges bedeviling the country must especially the Northern geopolitical zone, he said a lot have been changed with the emergence of new service Chiefs as "they came with new ideas" in collaboration with the Governors.

"Three months has given to them to map out strategies to address kidnapping, banditry, insurgency and other social vices.
