There has been jubilation in some parts of  Pankshin , Kanke and Kanam local governments of Plateau when the news broke out that their Member in the Federal house of representatives Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi has purchased equipments and has drilled boreholes  in several communities in order to  tackle the issue of  water scarcity in the zone .


A statement signed by the media team of the Federal lawmaker made available to newsmen in Jos reads that  "After about two-hour  discussion with Gov. Lalong on Saturday 15th May, 2021 pertaining the developmental legislative agenda of Rt Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi for the people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, the governor has magnanimously consented to personally commission the befitting PKK Constituency office, built and furnished by the lawmaker, as well as the borehole drilling equipments, one supporting Truck and some sets of hand-pumps equipments a purchased by the lawmaker at the cost of #164 million, and three hilux vehicles purchased by the lawmaker to be distributed to the three local government areas in his constituency for joint security patrol; all lined up as part of activities to mark his two years in office.




The statement further reads that the  lawmaker mooted the idea of purchasing standard borehole drilling equipment, comprising the two trucks and machineries, in order to meet the water demand of the three hundred as fifty seven (357) polling units in the constituency. 


Consequently, the lawmaker had promised to embark on his earlier promise to drill one hand pump borehole in each of the polling units in the constituency and one Solar motorized borehole in each of the (36) electoral wards in Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Local Government Areas. 


In preparation for activities to mark his second year in office, the lawmaker will be meeting with all his aides on Sunday 23rd May, 2021 to fashion out the program of events for the 2 year anniversary, with activities lined up to last five days. 



The statement further reads that the  lawmaker will distribute 10 cars, three (3) will be given to some of his aides and seven (7) to individuals from Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam local government areas including MR Christopher Gobum who sang his famous NGAS campaign song in 2018. This is part of the 40 cars he earlier earmarked to distribute as part of his empowerment program coming on after the rainy season.


At the meeting on Sunday in Dengi Kanam, a committee will be inaugurated to verify and refund all monies paid by constituents of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in registering for the 2021 JAMB examination, on presentation of purchase receipts and any prove of citizenship of Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam LGAs.    


Similarly, another committee will be inaugurated with the mandate of organizing a football tournament never before, staged in the history of the constituency. This is aimed at entrenching unity among the people of the constituency, bearing in mind, the magic sporting activities have been achieving in uniting Nigerians. 


The Speaker of the House of Representatives is expected to be present at the event, which will feature a world press conference that will unveil a template containing the various achievements of the lawmaker in his two years stewardship. 


Some projects initiated by the lawmaker, which would be commissioned during the event include six District Offices, townhalls and youth centers, the Dawaki Market stalls, 300 solar-powered streetlights, Gugur-Nyinang bridge among others. 


You will recall that Rt Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi was inaugurated on the 11th of June, 2019 as the member representing PKK, hence 10th June will mark his second anniversary in office; thus the activities earmarked in commemoration of the event.
