Hajj. Saratu Momoh, Matron AMIN-NIGERIA


A non governmental organization known as Al-Mumeenah Initiative- Nigeria (AMIN-Nigeria), have held an interfaith Eid Al-Adha, Goron Sallah 2021 celebration in Jos.

AMIN-NIGERIA said the choice of hosting such celebration is to strengthen the bond of peaceful  coexistence and harmonious relationship between  Christians and Muslims in Plateau and Nigeria as a whole.

The epoch making celebration which held in Jos, Plateau state capital had a theme:" Interfaith for the sustainable peace on the Plateau.

Giving the rationale behind the event, Al-Mumeenah-Nigeria matron, Hajj. Saratu Momoh revealed that the programme is designed looking at the current situation Nigeria is going through ranging from; insecurity, banditry, kidnapping, insurgency and other social vices.

While singing and emphasizing the national anthem, she urged every Nigerian to serve and defend the unity of the country by living in peace with one another always.

However, in the scriptural reflection from the Holy Bible by Pastor Samuel A. Soetin, he charged both religion to live in peace and shun tribalism. 

Also on his part, Sheikh Ibrahim S.A.Gwandu made admonished both Muslims and Christians to unite as one and discard all forms of discrimination against each other.

The event saw participants shared into cluster groups where discussion on how to maintain peace and foster unity of purpose within Christian and Muslim in the society took a center stage.

Meanwhile, a communique drafting committee was constituted and comes up with a viable resolutions.
