The General Manager of Plateau United football club of Jos, Pius Henwan has charged the newly appointed technical adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu and Head Coach Abdullazeez Abara to brace up for the challenge ahead  to surpass the track record of their predecessors.

Henwan also charged the new appointees to strive and demonstrate capacity in leadership, noting that the club is anticipating to reclaim it's lost glory by emerging champions again and secured continental ticket.

The general manager shed his thought during the official unveiling of the duo (Fidelis Ilechukwu and Abdullazeez Abara) alongside other new players who put pen to paper at the sports Council headquarters in Jos the state capital on Monday.

Henwan who under his leadership saw team Plateau United attended it's golden age as they crowned champions of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) twice, revealed that managing a team is not an easy task.

"Managing Plateau United needed somebody who is very sincere, dedicated to his duty and open minded. Because when you know you know it and when you didn't know you don't know.

"So I have been in this Team for the past 20 years so there is nothing in Plateau United that I didn't know and that is why it makes easy for me to be and win the league twice and I am hoping to win another one before I leave."

However, Fidelis Ilechukwu the new technical adviser of Plateau United now replaced Abdu Maikaba after the expiration of his contract having spent two seasons with club from 2019 to 2021.

According to Ilechukwu "Plateau United is a big team and my aim is win the 2021/2022 NPFL title. Is not going to talking but we're going to work harder.

"I have a capable assistants which is a big plus to me and also the coming new Head Coach Abdullazeez Abara with the players which we had on the ground we have the ability and capacity to succeed."

Captain of Plateau United, Golbe Elisha said being the captain of the team remain focus to make sure we achieve our aim at the end of season.

"In fact, last season is not our favourable season we performed under expectations, in fact least as it is expected by our teeming fans. 

"By the grace of God we keep ourselves up come this season 2021/2022 NPFL campaign hopefully we will bounce back and make things right by the grace of God."

Also speaking chairman of supporters club Mallam Audu applauded the team management of Plateau United for a well thought out decision of bringing a hands that would steer the affairs of the club.

He reassure their commitment to the incoming officials to aid them succeed in their assignment, noting that " no will interfere on their decision".

Our correspondent learned that the Team Plateau United have since on Monday 20th September, 2021 resume training ahead of 2021/2022 NPFL season.

Meanwhile, some players in the likes of Reuben Bala, Jimmy Ambrose who were in the club before return back alongside new signings as other players left the club.
