Ahead of the Saturday 26th, 2022, Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency bye-election, the candidate All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Joseph Abbey Aku have in strong terms debunked rumors of thread to sack any Counsellor in Jos North LGA who para venture vote against APC during the election.

He said the rumor is nothing but gimmicks of mischief makers whose agenda geared towards creating disharmony in the party.

Aku who spoke to Journalists at NUJ Secretariat in Jos, the state capital on Wednesday opines that " I am confident I will win the election."

He said: "I have been in the field going round and campaigning, and from the reports I am receiving, we are comfortable as a political party and candidate that we are going to win the election.

"I am not aware of any thread for Counsellors by APC. APC as a political party we are one family and I don't think there is a thread on the political party to force somebody to vote believing that I am capable and competent enough to rule support from any angle without being threaten on any voter.

"That is a mere rumor, those that actually left the party have made it known publicly and whoever is working against the party we have not received such report as a party and as a candidate", Aku stated.

The APC flag bearer further  maintained that, "Shortly after the run up that we had with Suleiman Kwande, the party chairman call me and the aspirants from Bassa LGA we just sat down and appeal to them which they agreed to brought five members of their campaign team each so that we can form a robust campaign organization that is all encompassing.

"I have engaged all religious organizations, I have been to Jos Central Mosque to address Ulama Council and I have been to different Church denominations requesting for their support.

"The Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency election happens to be one of the most sensitive election on the Plateau. It is easier to contest Senatorial election in this zone than to contest for the House of Representatives because of the interest that is generate, and so truly if you want to consult your people you must have to work with all the faiths and ethnic nationalities because anything that happens in this Constituency affect the state.

"My major goal, objective and prayer is that this election will come and go peacefully without any rancho", Aku concluded.
