The Authorities of the University of Jos has expressed its  readiness to always sustain harmonious partnership with Jos North Local Government Council to strengthen the security architecture of the Institution.

 Vice Chancellor University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya disclosed this when he led management of the Institution on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman in his office at the Council Secretariat.

The visit by management of the University to Jos North Local Government Council Secretariat is the first since Professor Tanko Ishaya emerged as head of the Citadel of knowledge.

He said the visit is to identify with  Management of the Council and seek for more areas of collaboration on the security and other challenges confronting the Institute and its students.

 The Vice Chancellor informed the Jos North Council Boss that the University is an ally of the Council and is also situated in Jos hence the need for the University to sustained  harmonious relationship and sustain confidence of the Council, parents and guardians whose wards are students University in search of  knowledge.

 Professor Tanko Ishaya sought for  collaboration in the area of agriculture in view of the University vast land to explore other potentials which according to him will be beneficial to both parties.

He appreciated the Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council for his foresight in containing security and other challenges in the area stressing that the University is  proud of his leadership style.

Responding, the Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman said he is humble to received the Vice Chancellor and assured University the readiness of his administration to ensure the safety of staff and students as well as the protection of  the nation investment in the area.

Usman told the VC that his doors are widely open at all times to the University for unflinching cooperation to enable him succeed.

He urged the University Management not to hesitate to intimate him in case of any emergency.
