Qua'an-Pan Local Government Council in collaboration with the Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA), has commenced the training of about 250 persons living with disability in the Local Government Area on skills in various areas of entrepreneurship.
Addressing the participants during the training, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Ernest Abner Da’a, disclosed that the training is part of his administration’s desire to equip the people with various skills.
“We are in a knowledge base era, where skills or practical knowledge are the basic survival tools. And as part of this administration’s efforts in ensuring that the people of Qua’an-Pan are empowered with entrepreneurial knowledge, we partnered PLASMIDA to start this phase of the process,” Hon. Da’a stated.
The Chairman assured the people living with disability that the Council will do everything humanly possible to support them after the training and promised to donate a laptop to the group for data capture and other secretarial affairs.
Da’a commended PLASMIDA for the prompt response to his request and their sacrifice towards the people of the state, adding that the programme would restore hope to the young and aged living with disability in the local government who had lost hope due to lack of skills and financial support.
In his remark, Chairman of People with Disability in Qua’an-Pan LGA, Mr. Godwin Dakus expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying the love and concern shown to them must be reciprocated.
While praying for the success of the QP Project administration in the locality, Mr. Dakus appealed to the Council to help them out with a means of sustenance such as, revolving income towards the running of the group.
The Council Chairman was in company of the Secretary to the Council Hon. Gideon Godenaan Dashe, Leader of the Legislative Arm Hon. Jonah Damar, Director Budget and Planning, Supervisory Councilors and some other Aides.
