A group of Concerned APC Stakeholders in Plateau State have distanced-self from purported meeting held by former governor Simon Bako Lalong at the party Secretariat in Jos Plateau State.

The meeting which was held on Wednesday 31st January, 2024 featured mostly Lalong's former appointees aimed to project APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr. Nentawe Yilwada Goshewe for ministerial appointment.

It was learned that former governor Simon Lalong selected 10 persons amongst his former appointees each from the 17 local government areas in Plateau State to endorse Dr. Nentawe Yilwada Goshewe for ministerial appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Reacting to the development, some critical stakeholders from Gagdi Camp distanced-self from the purported meeting held by former governor Simon Bako Lalong. They termed the meeting as Lalong’s former appointees meeting not APC Stakeholders meeting.

Some critical stakeholders of APC who were absence from Lalong’s purported meeting are: Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, Member Representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Idris Maje, former Deputy Speaker and Member Representing Wase Federal Constituency, Hon. Komsol Longap, Former Reps Member Shendam/Qua'npan/Mikang Federal Constituency, Hon. Dame Pauline Tallen, former Minister of Women Affairs, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka, Former Senator Plateau Central, Chief Amos Gizo,  close ally of President Tinubu,  Rtd Controller of Customs Mr. David Victor Dimka, and Chief Joshua C. Dariye, former governor of Plateau State among many other stakeholders.

Sources from Gagdi's camp expressed displeasure on former governor Lalongs political sentiment and self-centeredness as they distance-self from the purported meeting. A loyalist of Gagdi from Kanam said; they are fade-up with Lalong')s self-centered politics as they could no longer bear it.

Hon Yusuf Gagdi is nursing for his kinsman Prof. Saleh Mohammed from Kanam for ministerial appointment while other stakeholders  are nursing for Chief Amos Gizo or Professor Dakas C.J. Dakas for ministerial appointment.

It is a clear signal that former governor Lalong has lost the support from APC critical stakeholders in Plateau State as key stakeholders refuses to join his wildfowling political game. It is  another clear signal that Lalong has also lost
his connection with the Presidency and now finding sympathy from his party loyalists to support his interest for his replacement. Although the absent of key stakeholders from Lalong’s purported meeting was an indication that all is not well among the party on the scheme of his replacement.

Another Sources revealed that even those who attended the meeting were lamenting over Lalong's inability to give them transportation welfare to return to their destinations. Could it be that former governor Lalong deliberately did not want to give money to his supporters or it is true that Gagdi has been the party sponsor in Plateau State? What could it be difficult for Lalong to give each attendee's at least N20,000 as transportation welfare?

Our medium gathered that Hon Lalong who purported called the meeting could not give a kobo to members who attended the meeting to take care of their transportation expenses.

One of the member who attended the meeting, expressed his disappointment with former governor Lalong for not taking care of members welfare during the meeting as he described Lalong’s style of politics as used and dumped.

The Lalong’s purported meeting has in attendance the APC Party State Chairman, Hon Rufus Bature, APC Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe and his running mate Hon. Pam Bot-Mang, former Governor Prof. Sonni Tyoden, APC Deputy National Secretary Hon. Festus Fuanter, Member Representing QuanPan/Mikang/Shendam Federal Constituency Chief John Dafaan, former Speaker Hon. Yakubu Sanda among others.
