A high powered fact-finding committee visit at PRTVC 

In an efforts to actualize its mandate of working out modalities aims at enhancing remedy for peace and security in Plateau State, a high powered fact-finding committee seek for media collaboration, partnership, and synergy to deliver their assignment.

A 10-man committee which was constituted by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, led by Major General Nicholas Rogers retired, with a sole responsibility of conducting a thorough investigation towards finding a lasting solution to incessant attacks and wanton destruction of lives and properties in the state from 2001 to May, 2025.

It is crystal clear that apart from Barr. Timothy Parlong who is secretary of the committee, held from Plateau other members were non indigenes.

However, the committee continues with their familiarization tour as they paid a visit to Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC) and Unity Radio and Television Station in Jos on Friday, having earlier reached out to NUJ, Jay FM, Silver Bird station as well as heads of security agents in the state.

General Rogers revealed that the intention of the governor is to have accurate and first hand views devoid of sentiment and interference, hence the rationale behind the selection of the committee.

According to him, "the committee was carefully selected with a clear mandate of finding a lasting peace on the Plateau. For over two decades now the state witnessed dark moment. It's high time to end the bloodshed, and people must learn to live in peace with one another."

General Rogers, who was the first Task Force Commander, Operation Safe HAVEN (OPSH) in Plateau, said "our coming here today is to request for your collaboration and synergy because media plays an integral part in what we are doing."

He also appeal for maximum cooperation from Plateau citizens, tasking them to furnish the committee with a genuine memoranda in which at the end of their findings would enable them articulate a workable solutions for government to implement.

Underscoring the importance of the committee, General Manager PRTVC, Mrs Rita Kachollom Pam, represented by the director of engineering, Engr. Yakubu Ashoms acknowledged that the governor was deliberate in setting up the committee, taking into account the calibre of personalities involved.

Ashoms assured the corporation's readiness to partner with the committee as they casket their activity for the wider audience. He urged the  committee to run an open door policy by working together and make a positive impact for the betterment of Plateau.

Operation Manager Unity Radio and Television- Mallam Nazifi Abdullahi alongside other management staff of the organization adjudged the formation of the committee by Governor Mutfwang is apt and timely as they promised their unwavering collaboration with the committee on eradicating the circle of violence and promoting peaceful coexistence in the state.
