Gamai Unity and Development Organisation (GUDO), have set aside 31st December, 2025, as a date for the celebration of 'Bit-Gamai 2025 cultural festival.
The annual cultural festival which will be spearheaded by the apex body of the Gamai Nation is expected to witness the presence of Gamai sons and daughters both at home diaspora.
Speaking to newsmen at the NUJ secretariat in Jos on Friday ahead of the cultural ceremony, National President of Gamai, Miskoom Albert Alkali revealed the annual cultural event will in Shendam LGA the headquarters of Gamai Nation.
According to him, "the planning of the event headed by by a Gamai elder stateman Miskoom Camillus Tsemwan a Rtd Head of Service of Plateau at this great event our traditional dances More than twenty of them from all our districts and cuisines will be generously displayed.
"We are planning to invite top government officials, businessmen, our people in the diaspora, all the ethnic groups in Plateau State, PIDAN, traditional rulers, gentlemen of the Press,tourists, visitors and indeed all Nigerians.It will be an event to remember."
Miskoom Alkali also revealed that the Gamai Nation had a population of about 1.1 million people as they are predominantly in Shendam, Qua'an-Pan and Langtang South LGAs in Plateau State as well as Awe and Lafia LGAs of Nasarawa State.
He said committee is put place which are working assiduously on reactivating and revamping cultural dance that were at the verge of extinction.
On security concern, the president acknowledged there is a security committee heading by the commissioner of Police alongside other security agencies to ensure peaceful celebration.
