Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has officially flag off the construction of 37km road network to boost the economic development of the state.

The road project is many communities across three local government areas of Jos North, Jos East and South respectively.

Speaking during the official flagging off of the construction in Haski quarters (Gwafan community) in Jos North local government area, Governor Caleb Mutfwang advocate for unity of purpose amongst the citizens.
He acknowledged "it is not just about constructing a road, is about uniting the people, uplifting the people, making life better for the people and making sure that businesses within this area also begin to thrive.

"I look forward not only to the day that this road will be completed but that if God help us would even provide street lights.

"So, we want you to just keep praying for us that God would provide us the means to be able to service the contract and make sure that the contractors deliver on time", Governor Mutfwang added.
The honourable Commissioner, ministry of Housing and Urban development, Sylvanus Dongtoe while highlighting the economic benefits of the project across the three local government area, said it would enhance ease of movement and social life.

Dongtoe is optimistic that residents would benefit immensely because for sometime now over the years they gone through a lot, particularly during the rainy season.

"I think this is an opportunity now and it will go a long way in ameliorating what they have gone through and impact positively to the beneficiary communities."

He tasked communities to consider the project as partnership, urging them to accord necessary support to the contractor.
Engr. Kenneth Nadi, project coordinator Jecon construction Nigeria Limited, JCNL, a construction firm saddle with the responsibility handling the project, revealed the timeframe allocated for the execution of the project is 12 months. 

According to him, "we intend to mobilize all the necessary equipment and manpower to achieve the project within a stipulated time."

Mr. Chikam Dalam, chairman Gwafan District Development Association, confirmed that the road has been a nightmare most especially during rainy season.

"I feel very delighted, happy, joyful on behalf of Gwafan estate as a whole. With the coming of the governor today to do the official flag off of our road linking to other neighbouring communities", he stated.
