The Director General, Plateau Peace Building Agency, PPBA, Mr. Joseph Lengmang has bagged an award of excellence for his outstanding leadership in the promotion of peace and peaceful co-existence in Plateau State and Nigeria.

The award which was presented to the DG by Legislative Writers` Forum of the National Assembly, Abuja is in recognition of Lengmang`s untiring efforts at erecting enduring structures for the entrenchment of lasting Peace in the state.

Making the presentation of the plaque to the DG in the office of the agency in Jos, the Organising Secretary, of the Forum, Mr. Abraham Ogwaje who stood in for the Chairman noted that the forum had monitored closely the achievements, so far, of the agency under Lengmang which has brought back Peace to the state; hence their informed decision to confer on him the award of excellence.

Ogwaje who noted that “security and Peace were the most expensive component of governance in view of their salient nature”, charged the federal government to check the widespread unrest” occasioned by insecurity across the country.

He then expressed optimism that with the efforts the agency under Lengmang was putting to ensure Peace returns to Plateau, the desire would soon yield results.

Responding, Lengmang expressed gratitude to the forum for finding him and the agency worthy of recognition for the award.

According to Lengmang, the award would spur and further encourage him and his team to even do more even as he expressed gratitude to Governor Simon Lalong for his determination to restore Peace back to the state.

In a vote of thanks, the Director of Administration of the agency, Mr. Gayi Timothy also expressed gratitude to the forum for their concern for Peace in not just Plateau but, the whole of Nigeria. He then reiterated the agency`s commitment to continue to work for Peace.
