Fumed by the too often onslaughts on communities by assailants bent on thwarting his administration's efforts on consolidation of peace on the Plateau, Governor Simon Bako Lalong orders security agencies to hunt, apprehend and prosecute the attackers on Mgbrazongo village in Bassa Local Government area which led to the killing of four people including a Pastor, and destruction of properties.

In a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPA), Dr Macham Makut, and made available to the press, Governor Lalong  expresses disgust over what he describes as barbaric actions of criminals who have no respect for the sanctity of human lives and have been consumed by their orgy for bloodletting, and have evilly chosen to perpetually perpetrate their murderous acts, saying they must be brought to justice.

He said, "Government will not tolerate these senseless acts of murder unleashed on innocent citizens. I have directed traditional and community leaders to cooperate with security agencies in identifying these attackers who cannot be shielded as these attacks have persisted in recent weeks, a situation that is highly unacceptable to my administration."

It will be recalled that some communities in Bassa Local Government Area, Ancha, Hukke and Nkyiedonworo were recently attacked where lives, properties  and Livestock were lost.
While commiserating with the communities, the Governor dispatched a fact finding team led by the Commissioner for Commerce Aku Abbey who visited the Bra Ngwe Rigwe, His Royal Highness Rev. Ronku Aka, and met with stakeholders including village and district heads, Ardos, and community leaders. He also directed the Peace Building Agency to engage relevant stakeholders to arrest such attacks through systematic dialogue and enhanced security architecture.

Bassa stakeholders thanked the governor for the governor's concern and called for deployment of more security personnel in their communities which include Rehwenku,Tafigana, Katumai Rekwechongu, and Kpasho which are vulnerable to attacks.
