COVID-19 Lockdown: Council Boss Intercepts 8 Suspects

About eight persons have been paraded and taken to a mobile court in Jos by Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Usman, amidst coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic lockdown order imposed by the Plateau State Government.
The arrest of the suspects which were coming from Delta, Lagos and Kaduna States become possible with the combined operation of security personnel at the border.
According to the council Boss, Usman Shehu, in a press statement made available to journalists by senior information officer to the chairman, Philip Eplong said "they will be quarantined for fourteen days for proper investigation."
Usman stressed that he is working round the clock with the security agents at the border to ensure all routes remain closed.
The Chairman commended the security operatives for their Patriotism in the discharge of their responsibility, noting that the council will continue working closely with the state Government to ensure the state is COVID-19 free.
He equally challenge Traditional Rulers and groups whose citizens are at the border to put all measures in place to assist Government in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic
The Chairman reiterated that he has moved the members of the executive and ward councilors to the borders to work with the security agencies to ensure sanity at the entry points.
Usman Commended the Lalong led administration for proactiveness and dynamism demonstrated in the lockdown of the state as a measure to halt the spread of COVID-19.
Our correspondent learned that there were a lot of complains by members of the public, most especially those residing around border communities regarding massive illegal invasion despite a total lockdown order imposed by the state government.
