The Plateau State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2027, general elections, Gen. John Sunday Sura (rtd) has attended the ongoing 15th biennial training conference of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps, 2026 in Lagos State.

A statement issued to newsmen in Jos the state capital by Mr. Silas Audu Wettok, the Plateau state ADC publicity secretary, said Gen. Sura is among the paper presenters in the conference.

According to the statement 
General Sura is among the distinguished guests invited to participate in this year's conference, which brings together senior military officers, professionals, experts and other distinguished personalities to deliberate on issues relating to financial management, accountability, professionalism and institutional development within the Nigerian Army.

"As part of the programme, Gen. John Sunday Sura is scheduled to present a paper at the conference, drawing from his wealth of experience and distinguished career in the Nigerian Army Finance Corps.

"His invitation to participate and present a paper at such a significant professional gathering is a further reflection of the expertise, experience and professional accomplishments he acquired during his years of service to the nation.

"General Sura served with distinction as a senior accounting officer within the Nigerian Army before his retirement from active military service. His record of service, professionalism and commitment to accountability continues to distinguish him as a person of considerable experience in financial administration and institutional management", Wettok noted.

He further explained that the state chapter of the party consider Gen. Sura's participation in the conference not only a personal honour but also a source of pride to Plateau State and the ADC.

"The party wishes to assure members and supporters that General Sura's temporary absence from the state is strictly in connection with this important professional engagement. 

"He is expected to return to Jos within the week, where he will resume his political engagements and consultations with party leaders, stakeholders, supporters and other critical sectors of Plateau State.

"We congratulate General Sura on his invitation and participation in the 15th Biennial Training Conference of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps and wish him a successful engagement in Lagos.

"Plateau State is ready for a new direction", the ADC mouthpiece noted.
