There is a strong indication that a relationship between, Jos South Local Government Management Committee Chairman, Hon. Dachung Yohanna Choji and his people is cordial and worth of emulation by public officials at all levels.
This has come to the fore when the council boss embark on the construction of a bridge which was abandoned for many years by previous administrations in the locality.
A group under the auspices of Youths for Good Governance Initiative investigation confirmed that before now people living around Tanchol where the bridge is being constructed have no access linking other neigbouring communities.
Speaking to our group, a 65 year old man Gyang Pwajock expressed gratitude to, Dachung for taken the step to alleviate the pain they have passed through for many decades.
“We are short of word to express our unreserved appreciation to the council chairman for this laudable project under construction.
“This has demonstrated that he is a leader that have his people at heart and their problem became his personal problem. He stated.
Also Mr. Zakka Badung, a farmer, applauded the council boss for coming to their aid, saying that the community would continue to remain indebted to Dachung.
“We have concluded arrangement to offer a special prayers for our chairman for God’s protection against all his visible and invisible enemies who are neck bend calling for his sack”
From all indication, the contract gulp millions of naira.
While in an interactive session with the group, Dachung told the said that; there is no gain for a public office holder in neglecting the plight of his people for no course.
“Even before I became the Management Committee chairman of Jos South Local Government, each time I passed through this area, it is disturbing seeing this community suffering especially during rainy seasons; that is why as chairman I took it upon myself to construct the bridge to curb their problems.
“The project and programmes we embarked is in line with Governor Simon Bako Lalong Rescue Mission and APC led administration in providing basic and social ammenites to people at the grassroot level.
Dachung promised to do more for his people through the provision of infrastructure, physical and human development.
He called on people the people of Jos South LGA to support the Government of His Excellency Simon Bako Lalong to enable him succeed in his tireless efforts to Rescue and industrialize the State for a better tomorrow.
It's also noting that, Hon. Dachung inherited the renovation of the Jos South Council Secretariat from his successor and it's currently at 90% completion.
The Council Boss also initiated and awarded contract for the construction of a store house in the Council Secretariat which has since been completed among other projects.
