Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social development(MWASD), has streamline activities to usher in January 15, 2021, Armed Forces remembrance day celebration.

Recall 15th January has been set aside every year to appreciates the sacrifice of our veterans and fallen Heroes in the first and second world wars, the Nigerian civil war, peace support operations around the world and internal security operations.

Addressing Journalists in Jos the state capital on Saturday, the commissioner ministry for women affairs and social development, Mrs.Rebecca Adar Sambo acknowledged that the Armed Forces remembrance day is targeting at "supporting the legionnaires and families of the deceased as well as indigents and incapacitated veterans".

The commissioner who was represented by director for women affairs in the ministry, Mrs. Charity Dimlong who outline the chain of events which includes;12th December,2020, press conference.

However, emblem appeal fund launching by the executive Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong comes up on the 15th December,2020. 8th January, 2021 will be juma'at prayers at the Jos Central Mosque while 10th January, 2021 is going to be an interdenominational church service, venue to be announced soon.

15th January,2021 will be grand finale and wreath laying ceremony at the Joseph Gomwalk Secretariat round about cenotaph Jos.

The commissioner urged Nigerians to actively participate in all aforementioned events to make it a huge success, as she wish legionnaires and Nigerians a fruitful year 2021 Armed Forces remembrance day celebration.
