Rapturous cheers erupted in Kanam LGA as mammoth crowd of supporters welcomed their son, Rt. Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal constituency home amidst jubilation.


In an effort to Kickstart his stewardship in the year 2021 on a good note, Gagdi, has inspected some ongoing infrastructural projects he initiated and attracted to Kanam Local Government Area.


He started the inspection with the educational infrastructural project - construction of two classroom blocks he facilitated at GSS Gagdi And the Modern ICT Center. The member was received by the Principal and top management of the school.


While addressing the school Principal, staff, School Based Management Committee (SBMC) and PTA excos, the member brought and handed over to them a copy of an award letter for construction of befitting Modern ICT Center as well as fencing of the entire school environment. 


The Principal while responding, appreciated the member for his efforts at the National Assembly and for remembering his root while serving the constituency and also prayed God almighty to bless the lawmaker with wisdom. 


The member also interfaced with the school students and offered words of advice to them.


The Dan Malikin Kanam, along side his team, proceeded to Dogon Ruwa, the Headquarters of Jahr Chiefdom to inspect the construction of Raan Jahr befitting palace and was received by traditional rulers within the Jahr Kingdom.  He addressed mammoth crowd of supporters and broke the good news of the construction of Kwalmiya-Dogon Ruwa road. 


Gagdi embarked on the inspection tour of the projects to ascertain the quality and level of work done so far with a view to ensuring that the standard of work and time frame were met.

 The  Rep member interacted with the Team of engineers who are already clearing the site for the arrival of their equipments for the commencement of the road construction.


Some of the projects sites the member also visited were: 

 

1. Kwalmiya-Dogon Ruwa Road Construction Site.


2. Construction of Dogon-Ruwa 2nd Class Palace and Hall.


3. Construction of Kwalmiya District Head office with Secretary’s office, two guest toilets, guest waiting room, District Head office and a 150 capacity big hall.


4. Construction of Pankwal Bogghom Palace with Secretary’s office, two guest toilets, guest waiting room, Pankwal Bogghom main office and a 150 capacity big hall.


5. Construction of Tukur village head palace.


While commending the pace of work, Hon. Gagdi urged the contractors handling the various projects and the site engineers to ensure they meet the delivery date without compromising quality.


The workaholic Member explained the reason why Dengi-Kwalmiya-Gagdi-Dugub to Wawus road construction was not included in the Federal government 2021 budget. In his words " Federal government cannot award contract on state government contract unless the state government revoked the earlier contract awarded". 


Gagdi reiterated Governor Lalong's commitment to completing the said project and also assured the masses that he would not relent until the project is completed.


The Member is expected in Kanke and Pankshin today where he is expected to visit similar projects and interact with all the 27 Excos of all the federal wards, the LGA Party Excos of the APC as well as all the Elected and appointed officers of the local Government of Panshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in each of the Local Government Headquarters today. This is in continuation of his earlier interface with members of his constituency.


As Gagdi continues to make the desired change and bring more dividend of democracy to PKK, we wish him more grace, wisdom and foresight.
