The General Manager Plateau Publishing Corporation, PPC, the publishers of the Nigeria Standard group of Newspapers, Dr. Boniface B. Gwotbit have unveiled an assorted book titled" The Laity in the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos: the journey so far".
A technocrat, administrator and season politician,Gwotbit acknowledge that the aspiration to put his thought on paper come from God.
The epoch making event of book unveiling and launching held in St. Louis Catholic Church,Jos on Friday.
He appreciates the leadership quality of previous and present Catholic Archbishops of Jos Diocese in the persons of; late Bishop Gabriel G. Ganaka, Bishop Ignatius A. Kaigama and Bishop Ishaya Matthew Audu.
Gwotbit charged "is high time to open our mind as laity people towards evangelism to the glory of God and for the good of humanity".
Our correspondent learned that the Laity in the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos book titled,which center on church history has about 218 pages.
Book reviewer Dr. Emmanuel Hemba, held from college of education Pankshin said the book is apt because it present prayer information that connects to the livelihood of people in the communities.
He further opines that the book is divided into two parts with ten chapters which also serve as the Chronicles of laity lives and activities which has to with mission and prayers.
It covers Jos Diocese, Shendam, Pankshin, Bauchi, Lafia and Kafanchan, and also captured individuals and groups whose contributions make Jos laity diocese what it stands to be today.
Chairman of the occasion and Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Professor Danladi Atu, represented by Yakubu Datti Commissioner of Lands, survey and Town planning described the event as historical not only in the Catholic Church but Nigeria as a whole.
He commended the author for shedding his thought, noting that it will serve as area of interest for other writers.
