Following the recently concluded Local Government party's primaries of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State, a group known as John Goldana Campaign organization (JGCO), have raised the alarm over the alleged plot to shortchange their candidate in Kanke Local Government for the upcoming October, 2021 Councils elections in the State.

Recall that the outcome of the APC party's primaries conducted across the 17 Local Government Area of the state is yet to be announced.

Addressing Journalists in Jos the state capital on Wednesday the director general of JGCO, Hon. Zumji Lazarus pulled 1,165 votes for the Chairmanship primary elections held between 23th-24th, June 2021.

Lazarus expressed dismay over the actions of the electoral committee led by Mrs. Regina Soemlat, commissioner of finance Plateau state.

According to him" in Kanke LGA elections were conducted in 5 electoral wards namely; Nemel, Somji, Tabulung, Seri and Shiwer.

"The total results collated from these wards are as follows; John B. Goldana- 1,165, Dr. Koptong G. Bangs-775, Goladi R. Wakyilla-426, Shipi Gontul-221, Hon. Luka Vengji-178, Emmanuel D. Jankawa-174, Wilson Gogwim-104, Henry Jan Gotip-17 and Dr. Simon N. Deshi-nill.

He said:" event took a different turn on the 29th June, 2021 when the aspirants were urgently summoned at the Government Lodge and informed that the primaries would be conducted between and among themselves.

Lazarus said Goldana was forced against his wish to participate in the voting that saw the emergence of Henry Jan Group who got-4 votes while John Goldana-3.

He further started that they see this process of selection as fraud with danger and is inimical to the party's success at the polls.

" The clique which is perpetrating this illegal act claim they are acting on the instruction of the Governor who is the leader of the party.

"The official announcement is yet to be made from the appropriate quarters, the social media is awash with the stories and congratulatory messages that one Henry Gotip had won the primaries", the DG stated.

He called on Governor Simon Lalong as a leader of the party in the state to ensure justice is not only done but should be seen done in the process of coming up with a credible chairmanship candidate.
