The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Shehu Usman has officially taken over mantle of leadership of the Council with a pledge to uphold the culture and tradition of the people of the locality.
Usman stated this while receiving a handing over note from the outgone acting Chairman Solomon Sanda at the Council Secretariat in Jos.
Staff of Jos North Local Government received the Council Boss (Shehu Usman) amidst cheers and jubilation.
The Chairman expressed gratitude to the people of the area for having faith in him.
He stated that his second spell as Executive Chairman will see him concentrate on galvanizing the education sector, fight drug and substance abuse as well as promote Women and Youth empowerment.
Usman assured the workforce of his readiness to prioritize their welfare by ensuring good working relationship and enhance their productivity.
He therefore called on the personnel to reciprocate the gesture by working harder.
Earlier , the outgone acting Chairman Solomon Sanda said he enjoyed the cooperation of the Management and staff of the Council and called on them to give the Chairman their unflinching loyalty, support and cooperation.
On her part, the Director of personnel Management of the council Asabe Pieput congratulated the Chairman for his victory at the poll and assure him of staff support and cooperation to enable him succeed.
Meanwhile, special prayers were held for a successful tenure.
