The Executive chairman of Kanke Local Government, Hon. Henry Jan Gotip was at the Plateau State NYSC Orientation Camp, Mangu yesterday, December 1st 2021 for a working visit. 


The Chairman who was warmly received by the State Coordinator Ms. Caroline W Embub described the Chairman as a young, vibrant, consummate and personable character who always put people at the centre of his priorities, for him to have traveled this far to identify with the NYSC scheme says alot.

 According to her, Hon. Henry is the first  Local Government Chairman to pay a courtesy visit to the orientation camp during her tenure as the State Coordinator. 


The Young Council Chairman while speaking said he purposely came to appreciate the good works the scheme is doing in Kanke Local Government, Plateau State and Nigeria at large. 


He encouraged them to continue the good works while charging corps members to remain steadfast in their service to the nation as they are a motivation to the youths and society  in general and that their commitment and contributions towards rural and community development in Kanke LGA hasn't gone unnoticed.


Reiterating the purpose of the scheme, the council Chair affirmed that NYSC has injected the Nigerian spirit in youths and the resilience, doggedness and courage  for which the Nigerian youth is known for resonates with the vision/mission of the scheme. 

He also reiterated the need for unity and called for the spirit of oneness and brotherhood among all Nigerians, irrespective of tribal, religious or ethnic affiliations which the NYSC is known for.


The chairman further appealed to the State Coordinator to post more health and education graduates to Kanke Local Government as Kanke is in dire need of Doctors, Nurses and Teachers.


"If we can have more educationists and health workers posted to my local government area, I believe it will assist in energizing our commitment towards revamping the moribund primary health centres and the educational centres in my locality." The Young Council Chair said.


While responding, the NYSC State Coordinator promised to look into the Chairman's request and wished the Chairman a successful tenure in office.


You would recall that education and Primary Health Care (PHC) were among the focal points of Hon. Henry led administration popularly tagged "Mu'kangke."
