A front line Governorship aspirant of the ruling All progressive Congress (APC), in Plateau State, Dr. Patrick Dakum stated that it is high time for Government at all levels to key into digital economy through digital education.

Dakum, leader of the "Consolidation for Greater Plateau 2024 Team" said e-governance through innovative ideas that would better the lives of citizens will be one of his central primary focus if he becomes the Governor in 2023 elections.

He made the remarks on Tuesday 14th December, 2021 at his Millionaire Quarters residence in Jos when members of the Plateau State APC Youths Online led by its chairman, Saminu Maigoro paid him a courtesy visit.

He said about 80% population in the state are youths, as such the entire programmes must operate on the  context of today which is the "Youth".

According to him, " you hold a very strong thing as APC Youths Online because it is very adoptable. We must move into digital economy and to do that we must embrace digital education".

Dakum further hinted that "Let us work together to see how APC Online contributes into e-governance through innovative thinking and address the needs of the people".

On the issue of APC reconciliation, Dakum revealed that intra party conflict if not properly handled, will affect not only the political party but also society at large.

He acknowledged that in any conflict situation youths are always at the forefront, therefore, he urged the youths to always fight based on principles not on the basis of tribe or religion.

He also commended Governor Simon Lalong for setting up the reconciliation committee to harmonize party members.

Earlier, Chairman of the Plateau State APC Youth Online, Saminu Maigoro mentioned that the group was established in 2016. It is an umbrella body of committed APC Youths cutting across the three Senatorial districts of Plateau State that have the zeal and passion of promoting the idles of Government and APC in the state.

Maigoro opines that the decision to visit the Governorship aspirant, Dr. Patrick Dakum as critical stakeholder of the APC is to intimate him about their forthcoming dinner slated for Friday 17th December, 2021.

He said the dinner is targeted at creating dialogue and synergy between APC stakeholders and youths as they are with internal wrangling right from Congresses, Local Government elections and House of Assembly tussle.

He stressed that coming together to harness their differences and learning to manage intra party conflict will go a long way in salvaging the party from its shambles." So that is why we have come to inform, invite and to also solicit for your support ahead of the programme".
