Occupants of the Government Reserved Areas (GRA) in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State has raised  alarm over Plot by the state government to sale the quarters to its cronies without following due process.

They said some Powerful individuals in government connived to sell the  government quarters at Pankshin to their families and cronies who claimed to have purchased the said housing estate.

The Staff who doesn't want his name in print for fear of victimisation  said buyers are alleged to be conniving with the state Head of Services in harassing and intimidating them who are active state civil servants to vacate the buildings  as it has been sold to them among the buyers include the Executive Secretary Plateau State Christian welfare Board Rev father George Gorap.

According to them some of the standing building with people occupying them are been forced to vacate the premises claiming they have bought the house’s for business.

The occupants said the former Head of service ,Azi Izam adviced those who had earlier laid claim to ownership of the government quarters to steer clear saying government has not authorized the sales of the said properties.

The residents of the estate who spoke bitterly said unless urgent step is taken to address the encroachment and illegal acquiring of land and properties belonging to government in the state.

They raised cogent issues bordering on land racketeers of Government estate in the state by the government appointees of Governor Bako Lalong government to auction properties of the state.

They further lamented that despite their constant complaint to safeguard the estate proved abortive, as the governor’s appointees who claimed untouchable are bent on acquiring the houses at all cost.

However, the State Head of Service Engr Sunday Hyat while responding to this medium Said the quarters were sold for a very long time and those interested bought the said properties and land from the proper authority which is the ministry of lands and survey.

According to him,"the quarters were sold long time ago even before this adminstration so wondered why people will complain."

Reacting on the allegation level against him, the State Secretary Christian pilgrim welfare Board, Rev. father George Gorap said allegation against him are malicious and mischievous.

He said the allegation against him is falsehood as he has bought his land 4 years ago with title documents.
