The commissioner of water resources and energy in Plateau state, Hon. Noel Nkup has resumed duty with a pledged of rendering humanitarian services to better water and energy sector.

Nkup who took over mantle of leadership on Monday, to stir the affairs of the ministry said as a change agent he is fully ready for the task ahead.

"I am here today by divine providences, for that, I come in peace, with a mission for ministry of water resources and energy, to be the most functional, well-structured and organized ministry to provide the most effective, fast and excellent humanitarian services to humanity on the Plateau and Nigeria by following international standard of water provisions and energy services."

He stated that the ministry of water resources and energy will be properly structured for the implementation of government policies and programmes. 

"All agencies, corporations, and commissions under the ministry of Water Resources and energy to affectively achieved the purpose for which they were constituted. 

"The time is now for the reform in water and sanitation programmes in Plateau state to be effectively carried out in-line with the accepted global practices in water sector and energy. 

" The time is now for our international donors agencies in water sector and energy to realize the aims of their contributions or donations. 

He appreciates Governor Caleb Mutfwang, PDP family both in Plateau and beyond for appointing him to serve as he solicit for collaboration and cooperation of management staff in the ministry to succeed.

While handing over the symbol of authority to the incoming commissioner alongside directors and other management, the permanent secretary Plateau state ministry of water resources and energy, Pharmacist Abel Gotau said the Commissioner is coming at the time when the ministry is in dire need of total overhaul.

"Your now handling two ministries in one. Water is life and it doesn't have a substitute. While energy in the other hand is essential for economic development.

"Giving your track records we strongly believe you will work assiduously towards promoting energy cooperation and create energy market and regulate it for the state.

He assured a good working relationship between the staff in the ministry as they are dedicated to effective service delivery.
