Hon.Chrysanthus Dawam, Commissioner Budget and Economic Planning Plateau state

The Plateau State Commissioner for Budget and Planning Hon.Chrysanthus Dawam has assured of the readiness of Governor Caleb Mutfwang's administration in the area of rural development through good governance.

He said the administration which was voted overwhelmingly is conscious of the expectations of citizens of the state particularly at the grassroot level and will not  disappoint them.

Dawam stated this when he received in audience a delegation of Doemak Women on a courtesy visit at his office led by their President Mrs. Monica Dayah where they sued for development at the grassroot as well as address the insecurity menace in Qua'an Pan LGA especially the lingering kidnapping that engulfed the Council Area in recent past.

"The Ministry of Budget is the umbilical cord of government, it is very key to the success of government's desires through it's functions.

"Aside the various bigger road projects in the State, there are various pressing needs in some rural communities that just needed some touch. There are communities that needed just a culvert or proper opening of access roads which ordinarily will serve them but were neglected, I want to assure you that this administration is conscious of such needs.

"It is important that as a women organization, you're  voicing out for the development of your rural community, insecurity and women empowerment which are noted"

He commended the Doemak Women for  advising and guiding him and the government in attending to the various needs of their community, Dawam assured the women that their advise and guidance will be taken seriously.

The Honourable Commissioner appealed for unity of purpose among his people devoid of political affiliation, religion or ethnicity, stressing that politics is over and it is time for governance. Infact, THE TIME IS NOW. He commended His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the relative peace the state is enjoying. The transition Committee Chairman, Hon Christopher Audu Manship is also commended especially in eliminating Kidnapping in the LGA within a very short time of assumption of office.

"We must be mindful of placing our collective goals beyond personal interest. We shouldn't allow the rivalry of our political affiliations becloud our good sense of reasoning. Let us all come together and move our communities, our LGA, our state and country forward."

The women earlier on lamented that Doemak District which is strategically located is threaten by flood and insecurity which requires deliberate measures in addressing them.

They said the menace of kidnapping has been denying some of them from going home and taking their children and grandchildren home to learn from their culture, and appealed for the empowerment of women in the area.
