The Honourable commissioner, Plateau state ministry of sports and youth development, Bashir Lawandi Datti has acknowledged that Governor Caleb Mutfwang is giving one hundred and one percent attention to welfare packages of players and management of Plateau United FC.

Datti, made this known on Thursday while speaking to newsmen after participating in a training session with Plateau United in Jos, Zaria road stadium ahead of their home game encounter.

All preparation by peace Boys, Plateau United is on top-gear to secured three maximum points when they keep a date with Remo Stars FC, come Sunday 21st April, 2024, in match day 31 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2023/2024 season.

Recalled, Plateau United were beaten 3-1 away from home by Rivers United in Portharcourt in match day 30. They are currently occupying 6th position in the log table.

According to the youth and sports commissioner, actually if you look at the records of Plateau United since from the beginning NPFL 2023/2024 season they are doing great, but towards the end of the season now their records is going down a little bit.

"And, we said there is need for us to encourage the players. That is why I decided to come up and train with them and encourage them so that they will do better. You know we lost our match against Rivers United in Portharcourt last weekend, so the players need motivation.

"While I was addressing the players, you know in the game of football we have what we call business football, and that is what we want the players to pick up the challenge and secure a positive results.

"I want to assured you that the government of Plateau state are doing their very best in terms of team welfare and we will continue supporting the team hundred and one percent.

"The Governor is doing all his best, and as your all aware few weeks ago the Governor came to Zaria Road Stadium and watch a "challenge cup" grand finale between Plateau United and Mighty Jets International FC, and also just last week Sunday 14th April, 2024, he was at the Mangu mini stadium to watch Governor's cup finals between Mangu LGA vs Jos North that was organized by Plateau State Football Association (PFA). 

"It has never happened in the history of Plateau that a sitting governor demonstrated such gesture but  Governor  Mutfwang did that because of the passion he has for football and other sports in the state. And that is to show you the level of commitment which the Governor have in trying to change the narratives of sports on the Plateau. "

Commending youth and sports development commissioner for participating the team's training session, Plateau United Technical Adviser, Mbwas Mangut said his presence always motivating the team, as the commissioner bring good news from the side of government and urged them to do more.

On team's defeat in Portharcourt, the gaffer revealed the tempo at which the team are doing now is not good enough compared to when the season commenced, and which is one of the reason why the Commissioner attended their training and encouraged them to work extra hard.

"Generally, if one or two players have a bad day,  you can see when generally the whole team is going down it could be a factor of not seeing a certain personal representing the team. So you need to look at the players formation, you need to look at the more recovery of the starting personality some of them because it is a thing of concern for us to look at."
