Plateau State Government has vehemently debunked fake news circulating on the various media platforms that the curfew hours has been reviewed from 6:00am to 10:00am with effect from Wednesday 14th August, 2024, till further notice.

The State government said the falsehood is a calculated attempt by mischief makers aimed at diminishing government reputation and misleading the public.

A statement made available to this medium Tuesday in Jos by Mr. Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs Government House Rayfield, urged Plateau citizens to disregard such false information.

He revealed the curfew hours remained 7:00am to 7:00pm as the government earlier mentioned.

"The Plateau State Government wishes to clarify that there has been no further relaxation of the curfew currently in effect. Contrary to a false statement being circulated by certain individuals, the curfew remains as previously announced.

"Residents are hereby reminded that movement is permitted only between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, as directed by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State. The public is advised to disregard any misleading information and to adhere strictly to the stipulated curfew hours.

"In conclusion, the public is advised to stay informed through official channels to avoid the spread of misinformation", Bere added.
