The Appeal Court of Nigeria sitting in Abuja Division has on Friday affirmed senator Pam Mwakwon Dachungyang as a duly elected senator of Plateau North Senatorial District in the  rerun election conducted on 3rd February,2024.

A three man penal of the Appellate Court said they were in agreement with the decision of the lower Tribunal.

You recall the Judges of lower  Tribunal sitting in Bauchi State, headed by Hon. Justice Cordelia Ogadi unanimously dismissed the petitions of Amb. Chris Musa Giwa and Shafiu Mohammed, candidates of All Progressive Congress (APC) and New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) filed against Senator Dachungyang.

Expressing delight with Appellate Court pronouncement, Senator Dachungyang said, "power belongs to Almighty God."

A statement issued to newsmen shortly after Appeal Court declaration by Eric Dung, senator Dachungyang's special assistant on media said the senator expressed deep appreciation to God Almighty for the resounding victory at the Court of Appeal, Abuja which upheld the decision of the Election Petition Tribunal that earlier gave judgement in his favour.

Senator Dachungyang used the opportunity to commend the judges who sat over the matter from the Trial Tribunal up to the Appellate Court noting that they have demonstrated outstanding legal prowess, discipline and respect for the rule of law;  and by extension, the voices of the majority of the people of Plateau North.

"May I also use this time to sincerely appreciate His Excellency, the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his unwavering support, our Leader, Da Jonah David Jang, my party, the Action Democratic Party ADP and the good people of Plateau North Senatorial District for the support throughout this period, I am eternally grateful".

Projecting into the future as far as his representation is concerned, Senator Dachungyang explained that "I am not an ambitious man. It is divine providence that brought me to where I am today and by the grace of God, I will not do anything that will be to the detriment of the people of Plateau North and indeed the State in general who overwhelming gave me this mandate", he concluded.
