The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council has shower encomium over the leadership prowess of Jos North local government council chairman, Barr. John  Christopher in his hundred days in office.


NUJ said they were impressed with the developmental strides of the council's chairman within shortest time which is a testament and determination of transforming the locality to a greater height.

The State Chairman of NUJ, Ayuku Pwaspo gave the Commendation during a courtesy visit on Monday at the chairman's office in Jos North local government Secretariat, nothing that the Chairman's  unprecedented grassroots development achieved so far  deserved accolades.

Ayuku confirmed the visit was to identify with the Chairman for his laudable transformative initiatives, towards meeting yearnings and aspirations of the people and to introduce the Executive of the NUJ state Council and broker ways of collaboration to sustain the good work going on in Jos North.

According to her, the headquarters of NUJ, Plateau State Council is domiciled within Jos North as the Council Chairman is their host hence the need to support his  Administration by propagating his activities to the outside world. 

She further emphasized the need for political will to control tricycle operations and sustain community market development to align with the state government's city renewal initiative as doing so will
minimise crime and criminality thereby increasing the revenue based of the local council.

The NUJ Chairman also acknowledged that the achievements of Jos North Council boss within the sphere of his administration has already gone a long way in projecting the name of the council in gold noting that the NUJ as a body are pleased with him and encouraged him to sustain the tempo.

Responding, Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area John Christopher appreciated the Executive of NUJ for the visit  and described journalists as guiding angels and watchdogs of the society.

Christopher  informed members of NUJ executive that his administration focus is to provide conducive working environment, prioritizing health, agriculture, water Resources, youth and women empowerment and other essential services. 

He added that the greater together administration in Jos North is committed in collaborating with journalists to amplify the Council's position on key programs and address multidimensional crimes, saying the council is working very hard on all the conventional and non conventional security operatives to ensure the area is free of negative vices.

He explained that Journalists are partners to the success of every administration and promised to take time to visit the NUJ Secretariat to interface with them and keep them abreast with activities of his administration. 

He appreciated the support of Journalists to the PDP administration in the state and called on them to reciprocate same to the Local Government's Council. 

Christopher emphasized that his administration is operating and open door policy to deliver inclusive approach in administration and policies irrespective of tribes, ethnic, political and religious affiliations to give people in the Locality a future and hope.
