A Member representing Pankshin-Kanke-Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, has donated a whooping sum of N80 million to Muslim faithfuls for Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Gagdi, a 10th House of Representative committee chairman on Navy, while flagging off the distribution of the items in Kanam LGA on Thursday, urged Nigerians to always pray for leaders as they live in peace and harmony with one another.
Our correspondent reports that the N80 million cash will be distributed to various groups while 71 rams goes to traditional rulers and religious leaders in PKK constituency.
"This is what we normally do because the people is our stock in chain. We came here to share the sum of N80 million to the people of Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam constituency to assist them in celebrating Eid-el-Kabir because the message of Eid-el-Kabir is all about peace, love, unity, and most importantly helping the needy."
The Lawmaker who admonished constituency not allow politics of religion and ethnicity bring segregation among them acknowledged that right from in-between all humans emanated from one family (Adam and Eve) irrespective of the method and manner in which we worship God.
"We should continue to live in peace with each other and look at ourselves as brothers and sisters devoid of sentiment. Both Holy Quran and Bible speaks about respect for human life, respect for human dignity, and also respect for human religion."
"Our message is simple, and if you look at the constitution of the distribution committee it consist of both Muslim and Christian which aimed at striking a balance by ensuring we carry everyone along", he mentioned.
Gagdi also appeal to citizens for prayers to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 36 governors, National and state Assembly members instead of casting aspersions.
