The All Progressives Congress (APC) Like-Minds has formally distanced itself from two of its former members, Jamilu Baba and Lawan Mai Farare, following their recent engagement with leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), including former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai.

In a statement signed and issued to Acenews online in Jos on Wednesday by the National president of the group, Amb. Shehu Bala Usman, explained that while the duo reserves the right to associate with any political party of their choice, their actions have automatically brought an end to their membership in the APC Like-Minds.

The group reaffirmed its unwavering commitment and loyalty to the ideals and vision of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that it remains focused on strengthening the party’s unity, promoting inclusivity, and supporting the policies of the APC-led government.

It further called on members of the APC Like-Minds across the states to remain steadfast, law-abiding, and committed to the progressive ideology of the APC, adding that political integrity and consistency remain the core values of the movement.

The National President of the  Like-Minds describes APC as  broad-based platform that accommodates all shades of opinion and offers equal opportunity for political participation, noting that loyalty and discipline are key elements that sustain the party’s internal cohesion and credibility.

It stated that  APC Like-Minds  has, over the years, worked tirelessly to build bridges of understanding within the APC family, mobilizing grassroots support and ensuring that the principles of good governance and accountability remain at the forefront of its political engagements.

The group emphasized that political stability and party unity are indispensable to sustaining democracy, urging party faithful to focus on consolidating the achievements of the APC rather than yielding to distractions from opposition parties or individual interests.

According to the statement, Like-Minds will continue to play a strategic role in deepening democratic values, nurturing young political leaders, and contributing to the overall success of the APC under the Stewardship of the National Chairman , Professor Nentawe Yilwatda  both at  state and national levels.

It also reaffirmed its commitment and  support to the  Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging to mobilize grassroots support and align its programs with the administration’s vision for national development, economic growth, and social inclusion.

The group remains open to partnering with other like-minded groups and stakeholders who share the same vision of progressive politics anchored on service, transparency, and development.
