The National body of Anaguta Youth Movement (AYM), has conducted fresh elections in anticipation to fill the void when the tenure of current executive members elapsed.
It is pertinent to note that in no distance time the tenure of the current AYM leadership led by Emmanuel Madaki as the National President alongside other cabinet members would come to an end soon.
In order to fill in the vacancies that may likely occur, a five-man electoral committee was constituted in tandem with the prescription of AYM constitution to conduct fresh elections in various positions.
The AYM 2025 electoral committee spearheaded by Comrade Bitrus Kullashi as chairman graciously conducted the elections on Sunday 5th October, 2025, at the Anaguta Community Hall, Tejir.
Announcing the outcome of the exercise, Kullashi stated that elections supposed to be conducted in ten (10) positions which includes; President, Vice President resident, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relation Officer (PRO), Director of Research, Director of Social and Sports as well as Auditor.
He further explained that eight (8) were unopposed as there was a contest in the position of vice president while the position of Auditor remained pending.
According to him, "by the power bestowed on me as the chairman AYM electoral committee 2025, I hereby declared the following elected and returned unopposed. AYM National president elect- Comrade Samuel Sani Maguda, Secretary General- Samson Luka Haruna, Assistant Secretary- Margaret Mayam Ishaya, Financial Secretary- Gideon James Agada, PRO- Stephen David, Director of Social and Sports- Sunday Dalla Musa, Director of Research- Danladi David Kadans and Treasurer- Joy Danboyi Sako respectively.
"The contestants vying for the office of vice president are; Elisha David Daku and Stephen Zuma Jang.
"About 139 voters were accredited. Total valid votes cast is 137 while invalid votes is 2. However, the votes score by aspirants are as follows; Elisha David Daku got 63 votes and Stephen Zuma Jang secured 74 votes.
"That, Stephen Zuma Jang having gained the highest number of lawful votes cast is hereby returned elected as the AYM vice president."
AYM National president, Comrade Emmanuel Madaki represented by the secretary general, comrade Samson Chiroma applauded the electoral committee for putting up modalities towards the actualisation of a free, fair, and transparent exercise.
He also commended Anaguta sons and daughters sense maturity during voting period which resulted to a rancho- free exercise.
AYM National scribe further confirmed that arrangement were on top gear to enhance a befitting inauguration of the incoming AYM executive members.
Meanwhile, the incoming AYM executive members are to serve a three years tenure when they were officially inaugurated.
