The Boys Brigade Nigeria, Barkin Ladi Battalion Council, on Sunday 5th October, 2025, held an investiture ceremony to Hon. Stephen Gyang Pwajok, the Executive Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, as their Grand Patron.
The honour is in recognition of the chairman's outstanding contributions to the organization.
The event was made more special with the presence of his wife, Ngo Elizabeth Pwajok amongst other dignitaries who turn in their numbers to showed solidarity for the celebrant sterling achievement.
During his remarks, Hon. Stephen Gyang Pwajok expressed heartfelt gratitude to God and the Boys Brigade for the esteemed honor. He recalled his journey in the Boys Brigade, starting at the age of 9, and his previous investiture as Patron at COCIN LCC Jiyep. The Chairman commended the Boys Brigade for their remarkable achievements and progress, highlighting their significant contributions to societal growth and development. He pledged to continue supporting the organization in advancing Christ's kingdom and urged the congregation to do the same.
Hon. Pwajok also appreciated the security agents for their efforts in maintaining relative peace in the local government, despite security challenges. He appealed to the Boys Brigade to invest the 5 royal fathers of the 5 districts in Barkin Ladi and promised to sponsor the investiture ceremony. The Executive Chairman also expressed his commitment to looking into the issue of water supply to the church, ensuring that the congregation's needs are met. He concluded by making a huge donation to the church project on behalf of himself and his family, reaffirming the council's commitment to promoting the church.
HRH Da. Edward Gyang Gwom Rwei Gwol, who was newly decorated as a Patron, expressed gratitude to the Battalion Council for the privilege of serving. He pledged to support the Boys Brigade and urged politicians present to prioritize the needs of their constituents.
The ceremony, which was presided over by the President of the Boys Brigade Plateau State Council, Mr. Yilji David Nenonfwang, reached its climax with the decoration of the Chairman. Also present was Dr. Jerry Bot, the Grand Patron of the Boys Brigade Nigeria. The ceremony also included the presentation of awards to outstanding Boys who excelled in Bible competitions at the State and National levels. Hon. Stephen Pwajok Gyang was also recognized for his immense contribution to the growth and development of the Barkin Ladi Battalion Council.
The prominent present at the event including representatives of Hon. Simon Mwadkwon, former Senate Minority Leader, Engr. Dalyop Fom Sanchos, Hon. Dickson Chollom, Honourable John Chun, Director Plateau Liaison Office Abuja, the Deputy Chairman Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council, Supervisory Councillors, government officials, traditional rulers, and well-wishers.
