The All Progressive Congress (APC) women leaders cutting across various wards in Jos North local government area of Plateau State, has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to run for second term in 2027 presidential election.
The women leaders also passed a vote of confidence on the National chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda leadership prowess.
The motion of the endorsement of president Tinubu and Professor Nentawe was moved by the APC woman leader of Jos North LGA, Mrs Ruth Anya Izang and circunded by Hajiya Halima Yahaya, during their meeting held on Thursday at the Jos North APC secretariat.
Mrs Izang revealed the sterling leadership quality demonstrated by the duo is a testament that APC stand a better chance to win all positions in 2027 general elections.
"We're here today in affirmation of the endorsement of president Tinubu and Professor Nentawe which was done earlier by the Plateau APC stakeholders. We the women are hundred percent in support of what the men have already done."
Alhaji Mohammed Sani Gangare, APC chairman Jos North, while acknowledging a bold step taking by the women stated that, "Politics is all about number. We have the number and we had the majority. The majority will go to Tinubu come 2027."
"Very soon we're going to embark on ward to ward tour, and you will see the massive women in each ward coming out supporting Tinubu, Nentawe and the minister for humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction."
The chairman also extending gratitude to president Tinubu for finding Dr. Bernard Mohammad Doro worthy to handle ministerial position, saying "before now Northern zone don't have any tangible appointment but now we can beat our chest and proud with the appointment been given to us from the Northern zone which is quite commendable."
He further charged women and other party loyalists to make sure they obtain their PVCs, adding that there is bill before the National Assembly which scaled through second advocating for mandatory and special seats for women representation from each state of the federation.
Elder Agwom Atang Azi, the zonal chairman APC Northern zone who Commended the women for setting the standard to further strengthen internal democracy within APC urged them to exercising patience in terms of appointments.
"I charged women to continue exercising patience and trust in God's appointed time.When the time comes they will surely secure the appointment. Yes men have seen their struggle, they have been contributing and they had great number they will appointed in giving time."
Lending his voice, Barr. Paul Zaruma APC secretary Jos North LGA and senior legislative aid to Member representing Jos North-North constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, expressed optimism that Tinubu demonstrates leadership capability as Plateau indigenes secured about 46 key appointments from federal government.
According to Barr. Zaruma, "Of course president Tinubu is actually not Jagaban of Lagos is the Jagaban of Nigeria. He is a political gladiator and you know that nobody can be able to face him. And as it is now, even if election is going to hold today president Tinubu is already a winner.
"And the appointment of Nentawe is very historic and strategic. You know Nentawe is a grand master of strategy", he concluded.
Our correspondent reports that the meeting also had in attendance the APC zonal woman leader, NGO Bang Dalyop alongside women leaders of Jos South, Jos East and other neighbouring local governments.
