The APC Like-Minds Support Group has condemned in strong terms the sponsored and malicious statement circulating on conventional and social media, purportedly issued by a faceless group known as the APC Youth Solidarity Network (APC-YSN), calling for the resignation of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Yilwatda Nentanwe.
In a statement signed by its National President, Ambassador Shehu Bala Usman, the group described the publication as a mischievous attempt to undermine a progressive and reform-driven leadership, noting that it was orchestrated by certain self-serving politicians and their sponsors who are jittery over the rising profile and renewed unity of the APC under Prof. Nentanwe’s watch.
The group said since assuming office, Prof. Yilwatda Nentanwe has provided inclusive and result-oriented leadership that has inspired confidence among members and repositioned the APC as the most organized and forward-looking political movement in the country.
It further explained that his leadership has led to massive defections and returns to the APC, including that of Hon. Daniel Asama of the Labour Party representing Jos North, Bassa Federal Constituency , Plateau State, Senator I.D. Gyang of PDP and several serving and former National Assembly members who have retraced their steps to the APC because of his bridge-building and transparent leadership style.
According to the group, Prof. Nentanwe has continued to build bridges of unity across the federation, restore faith in party institutions, and give both old and new members a sense of belonging. It noted that his leadership is rooted in integrity, consultation, and teamwork — values that have strengthened the APC’s structure nationwide, the clear attestation as why serving Governors are coming to the APC.
On the Ekiti State governorship primaries, the APC Like-Minds Support Group dismissed the allegations of mismanagement as baseless, describing them as a distraction from detractors. It maintained that the National Chairman has exhibited capacity, fairness, and consistency in handling sensitive party matters, earning the confidence of the National Working Committee (NWC) and all critical stakeholders.
Responding to the controversy surrounding Governor Caleb Mutfwang, the group clarified that the decision to reject his entry into the APC was a collective resolution of the APC stakeholders on the Plateau reached after wide consultations. It explained that during the said meeting, the matter was put to a voice vote and the entire hall of party leaders unanimously echoed “neeeee,” signaling a clear rejection.
The group added that members of the so-called APC-YSN should have full knowledge of what happened during the stakeholders meeting on Friday the 24th day of October 2025 at Crest Hotel Jos Plateau State, if truly they exist. “It is therefore hypocritical and mischievous for them to blame the National Chairman for a collective outcome,” the statement emphasized.
The APC Like-Minds Support Group reaffirmed its total loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and its unflinching support for Prof. Yilwatda Nentanwe’s leadership, describing him as a unifier, reformer, and visionary leader who is rebuilding the party on a foundation of unity, inclusion, and discipline.
It urged members across the country to ignore the blackmail and focus on consolidating the party’s progress , it's important to note that all success so far recorded is a collective effort of the National Exco under the Stewardship of Prof. Nentawe .
The group insisted that no amount of propaganda, deceit, or political scheming will derail the ongoing transformation within the APC, affirming that Prof. Yilwatda Nentanwe remains committed to uniting the party, defending its ideals, and advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of 2027.
