The second edition of the Registrar's Week at Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos with the themed "Excellence in Service Delivery," concluded following a detailed presentation on the strategic roles of registry staff.
In a keynote presentation delivered by Nasarawa state University and Chairman Association of Registrar's of Nigeria,Dr. Bala Ahmed II, while speaking on the topic "Servicing Committees and Panels: The Strategic Roles of Registry Staff,"highlighted critical issues and responsibilities related to university governance structures.
Dr. Ahmed's presentation meticulously explained the responsibilities of Registry staff in committees and panels, detailing how these bodies are constituted. He also clarified the crucial differences between various institutional organs, including:
* Committees
* Panels
* The Senate
* Extraordinary meetings of the Senate
* Other themes related to complex university administration.
Speaking earlier, PLASU Registrar,Yakubu Ayuba, explained that the Registry Week was designed to keep the Registry staff abreast of contemporary issues in university administration while promoting professional growth and development of staff.
Declaring the Registry Week closed, the Vice-Chancellor of the University,Professor Shedrack Best, expressed gratitude for the great work the Registry staff had demonstrated. He specifically appreciated the efforts of the University Registrar, Yakubu Ayuba, in organising the successful week.
Highlights of the Registry Week included an earlier road show around the major routes within the campus, a novelty football match where the Registrar uniquely served as both the goalkeeper and coach of the Registry team, and other entertainment activities such as the egg and sack race among several other entertainment.
