The Former Aspirant of the Plateau State House of Assembly for Langtang North -Central,Hon.Nankar Shagaya has debunked that Nigeria is not driving into one party system under President Tinubu regime.

He explained that there are other political parties like the PDP,APGA,ADC which are strong opposition so people decampees from the PDP to APC cannot push us into one party system.

Shagaya described the successful wards and LGs congresses of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC),hold on Saturday 20th , February,2026 as a landslide victory for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to journalists on a  phone conversation,Shagaya applauded the unity and oneness demonstrated during the Congress .

According to him,the aftermath of the congresses held across the wards everyone was happy especially the newly decampees from the PDP because the exercise went on peacefully and rancour free .

Shagaya applauded the APC- PDP camps for the show of love and understanding of each other in Langtang North LGA , noting that they were able to accommodate each other for the interest of building the state.

He stated that the new electoral amended act avail the opportunity for the exco of the  party and registered members  to participate actively in the selection of candidates of their choice.

Adding, "the exercise is a breakthrough for the conduct of primaries of the state assembly, LGAs, Federal House of Representatives, Senate, Governors and the President.

He expressed satisfaction with the amended act of the electoral system saying that, aspirants vying for election most be rooted at grassroots before contesting for elective positions.

Shagaya commended the National Assembly and President Tinubu for the quick passage and signing of the new electoral bill into law , which is promoting the process of democratic journey.

He admonished the electorates to shun money bags politicians and vote wisely for those with principles of ideology to help improve the system.

Shagaya maintained that the new amendment give ample opportunity for the voters to vote those that are closed to them and also understand their plight.
