The National President of Langtang Old Students Association of Nigeria, (LAOSA)  Mr Ponyak Nandang,the 
Controller, Nigeria Correctional Center,Niger State has commended the set 1990 for  paying 2026 JAMB  to the 30 best students  registration toward  amilerate the suffering of their  parents.

He saw the exercise as   milestones achievement in the history of life and time to render assistance upgrade humanity. 

He described  the gesture as unwavering support to the development and growth of the LAOSA that would torch the lives of the students and enhance performance of others. 

Nandang who made the commendation in a telephone interview with our medium in Jos  expressed happiness with the set taken time and resources to help in promoting the school extra curricular activities . 

He noted that , this is the first of it kind for a set to pick up project that has direct impact to the  well-being of the students by encouraging students  to pursue their career as well as  developing their community . 

According to him  ,the exercise is just the beginning but this would  encourage  other sets to see it as a challenge and introduce programme that would promote healthy competition and revamp back academic activity in the school. 

Nandang appealed to Governor Caleb Manasseh mutfwang to assist the school with all the  necessary learning materials towards boosting learning environment as one of the oldest schools  in Plateau State . 

He stressed that the LAOSA, National body is working hand in hand with all the sets in adopting policy and programme that can place the school above others. 

Nandang also lauded  the introduction of  laudable programs aimed at safeguarding the future of the upcoming generation as this  sacrifice  need government intervention to restore back deficit infrastructures needs.

The Chairman of set 1990 ,Comrade Shamdung Jepla Ayuba disclosed that, no fewer than 30 Students of Government Famous  Government Secondary School Langtang,now   Government Model Senior Secondary school  benefited from set 1990  JAMB registration for 2026.

He explained that the selected exercise was base on their track records of academic performance which it will pursue with vigour if they score the require JAMB cut off point for admission. 

Shamdung Ayuba delegation was accompanied by Dr Nanfa Nimvyap, Mr Yakubu Ventim Wuyep that embarked on underground assessment visit to Government Model Senior Secondary School Langtang including Nanna Langs and Bolcit Titus who couldn't make it due to tide schedule but were adequately represented by the set. 

He vowed that the set is prepared to help secure admission to those who work hard to past with distinction especially those in sciences and social science as the only way to give back to the society that made us great leaders in our individuals field of endeavor. 

The Chairman  of delegation for the set  1990,Comrade Samdung Ayuba expressed his dismayed over the dilapidated structures of the school which he benefited from over the  years can turnout for this way .

 Ayuba  expressed concern over the low performance of the girlls by appealing to me government to put in place faculties that can encourage and motivate them to work hard in their cademic pursue. 

According to him, we are urging  the ministry of education to build and  renovate boys hostels to accommodate more body students. 

He lamented that the overview of the assessment visit saw the challenges of shortest teachers in the school,vandalised dinning hall ,lack of desks, chairs which  had drew the  attention of the set to ensure that more teachers are deploy to the school in science , social science and art to remedy the falling standard of the school. 

Ayuba decried that almost  35 years after  graduation the school has turned out to be a home for reptiles and overgrown  grasses greeting visitors .

In a related development  ,while inquiry from the students on the feeding, Ayuba was shocked that the supply of foodstuffs by the government usually come late forcing the school authority to go borrowed money to feed the boarding students.

However, the low numbers of females leaving in the school is so discouraging that out of 400 students only 13 of them are now occupying the female hostel which was renovated by World Bank.

Meanwhile, responding, the principal of the school, who is also member of set 1984 Mr Nandap Gambo reeled out some of the major challenges of the school despite he was recently posted.

According to him, there is need to more teachers to be posted to teach the students in major foundational for them to meet up the international world standard which is lacking.

He added that, the atmosphere of learning is not conducive to promote healthy competition amongst the students and is affecting them especially light for them to walk up and read in the night during prep ,we are calling on the plateau state government to rescue the falling standard of education in GSS Langtang. 

Gambo maintained that the popular dinning hall which used to accommodate all students is now completely vandalize and the students don't have decent dinning room table and chairs including textbooks, learning equipment. 

He admonished the contribution of the set 90 for the gesture of coughing out their earning to remember their almanac which is very laudable and encouraging sets to do same.

Adding his voice, Vice Principal Academy Mr Timloh Kumyil appealing to the appropriate authority to provide them with textbooks, ICT, Laboratories Science equipment, accommodation and dinning hall for the students. 

He decried of decades absence of learning materials which had inflicted more damage to the system that urgent intervention would salvage the situation. 
He noted that most of the public schools especially GSS Langtang  now suffered numerous challenges of poor performance in SSCE due to late supply of foodstuffs.

He further said,inadequate learning equipment and lack of qualify teachers brew low moral and  standards with the students leaving where there is no  modern facilities affect their learning.  

Dr Nimvyap who also commended the school authority for their careful selection best on academic track records of the students  .

He charged the beneficiaries to work hard and prove themselves worthy in selection as the best brain in learning and characters .

Nanfa Nimvyap assured them that the set is ever ready to ensure that they secure admission to study in their discipline as encourage them to imbibe the culture of reading  .

We are here to help the school improve on it academic, focus more areas that desire commitment to teamwork .

In appreciation message to the set 90 ,the head Boy of the students who double as one of the beneficiary thanked them for finding out their time and sacrifice to assist him and his colleagues. 

He promised to take his studies seriously by working hard in the forthcoming SSCE, we  pray that God Almighty would continue to provide to the giver and their families.

Today marked the most happiest day in our academic community as our senior can remember us by this wonderful gesture, yes, we are happy to welcome you all. 
"You  recall that the school was established in 1971 as a community Secondary School with the sole  purpose of producing sound leaders and the first Principal of the school was Mr Binfa M. Mwanjul before the creation of Benue /Plateau 1976.

"Government Secondary School Langtang has produced 23 principals and the growing number of students had gradually reducing in the last few years of academic years."
