An NGO, Search for Common Ground has organised a three-day training for stakeholders in Plateau on rapid response against conflicts in the state.
Speaking, Mr Chorbe Joshua, the National Programme Manager of the organisation said that the training was part of its "Rapid Response for Peace (R2ForPeace)" project.
Joshua said that the project is being implemented in Plateau, Benue, Taraba and Nasarawa states.
He explained that the training aimed at equipping participants with the basic knowledge of tackling conflicts in communities.
"While early warning is no longer a challenge, rapid response is an area that needs attention.
"What we will be learning here for the next three days is not new, but we are here to refresh our memories and share ideas.
"Our aim is to deescalate the ongoing conflicts in our communities; we after a conflict free and peaceful society,"he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the training had community leaders, representatives of security agencies, government agencies, religious organisations, the media, among others.
