Affordable Housing: Plateau Govt gives helping hand to LGCs
In a move to bridge the gap of housing deficit, the Plateau State government has presented 33 Hydra-Form bricks and block making machines to the 17 Local Government Areas in the state.
This is part of the Lalong administration’s commitment to providing affordable housing to the people of the state.
The governor while presenting the machines to the respective local governments in the state at Government, House Rayfield on Monday, explained that local governments constitutes the largest population in the state, hence they need to deserve a better service.
Represented by his Deputy, Professor Sonni Tyoden governor Lalong the hydra form brick and block machines would assist in actualizing the housing need of the people.
He implored them to take advantage of the initiative by his administration to close the housing deficit in their communities.
In a welcome address, commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dyyabu Garga who commended government’s initiative, said this would help alleviate the housing demand and improve the living standard of the people at the grassroots.
Also speaking, the managing Director of Hydra Form Limited, Abdulhakim Usman applauded the foresight of government for acquiring the machines and stressed that youths would benefit a lot through training on-how to use the machines.
In a remark ALGON Chairman in the state, Mr. Velgap Puetbet appreciated government for the gesture noting this would serve as source of employment for the youths.
Puetbet who is the chairman of Mikang local government area, urged them to key into the initiative provided by government in order to keep themselves from idleness.
